The 200th Anniversary of the Toronto Garrison Officers Ball will be held on Saturday, February 25th, 2017 at the Sheraton Centre Toronto on Queen Street and is open to Canadian Armed Forces Officers in the Toronto garrison and surrounding area and a select number of business leaders in the community.  It is the premier event and gathering for military officers in Canada and is a can’t miss evening of fun, socialization and meeting new friends.  The 2017 Toronto Garrison Officers’ Ball will be hosted by 32 Service Battalion, a Canadian Army Reserve Combat Service Support Unit located in Toronto and parading out of Denison Armoury.

The tradition of an annual Garrison Officers’ Ball can be traced back to 1817, when the then Garrison at York (Fort York) held an Officers’ Ball to celebrate “Queen Charlotte’s Birthday Ball” on January 23rd, 1817. Since this early 19th century social gathering, the Officers of the Garrison have held an annual Ball to celebrate the special relationship that military life brings to its members’ and their families.  The year 2017 will be an historic one for the 2017 Toronto Garrison Officers’ Ball as we will commemorate several milestones tying to the theme of the Ball “In Service to a Nation for 150 Years” including the centennial of the battles of Vimy Ridge and Passchendale, the 75th Anniversary of the Dieppe Raid and the 200th Anniversary of the very first Garrison Ball held in 1817.

The 2017 Toronto Garrison Officers’ Ball will be an event that can’t be missed.  Further details on the exact date and location will be coming very soon including how to purchase your tickets.  Stay tuned for further details and check back on our website or various social profiles for more information.
