5. I am not a serving or retired member of the military, will I still be able to attend?
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org directly. This will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
6. What can I expect at the event? Will there be any fundraising?
As an organizing committee we have decided to take the event back to its original roots. Making it a large scale mess dinner where the focus goes back to the officers of the garrison, their partners and guests and making the event a memorable and fun evening. We have therefore decided that the event will focus on fun and there will be no fundraising for any charities. Although charities have done significant and important work, it was vital for us to bring the event back to its original intent and purpose. One of the major decisions we made was to heavily subsidize the cost of each ticket so as to encourage you to bring a guest and also make it affordable for everyone. Hence the reason the ticket price is only $125.00 per person, regardless of rank. We therefore encourage you to pair up and bring a guest with you!
7. What is the theme of the event?
The theme of the event is “In Service to a Nation for 15o Years”. As you may know, next year is Canada’s 150th Birthday and as such we will be celebrating the Canadian Armed Forces contribution to Canada’s history over our 150 years of confederation. Next year will also be the 200th Anniversary of the Garrison Ball as well.
8. What is the dress for the event?
For military members the dress is Mess Kit with Miniatures or Equivalent. For civilian members, the dress is formal gala attire such as black tie for gentlemen and evening gown for ladies.
